TOGETHER WITH “THE VOICE OF HOCHIMINH CITY PEOPLE” RADIO (VOH), UGETHER “BRING THE WARMTH TO THE HIGHLAND CHILDREN”

During the first 3 days of December 2015, UGETHER and “The Voice of  Hochiminh City People” Radio (VOH), had gone through the hills, muddy roads to Nam Ka commune- Lak district.

"From Buon Me Thuot city, our group had to go more than 100 kilometers to the commune, then was carried by the plowing truck after went through the muddy woody plant, which falling trees everywhere. Sometimes, we had to walk because the truck was sunk and lean towards one side.

But thinking of: the  piteous image of the childdern, who was standing close together and sheepishly looking at the stranger - almost whom are skinny and blackened in their short shirt and torn pants, with clotted hair and without slippers; and their thin bamboo dilapidated school; we forgot all grind hard, and determined to get there.

The local ethnic minority people, live deeply in their solitary mountainous, were numbed with the cold when the drying season came. Many children just got thin and old clothes, their bare feet are spattered with mud and their skin was pale when the winter came. Every morning and afternoon, their teeth chatter continuously, their whole body were trembling in the frost, and their clothes could not keep them warmth. The cold like the knife, leave its sign on the children’s back, the children of poor ethnic minorities from the remote mountain "- According to the memoirs of VOH.

Some teachers shared that: “There are some children only have one set of clothes to go to school in cold winter for all week.We felt so sorry for them so we go downtown or go to the local village to ask for some old clothes, but it was not enough, just a few ones, with was no longer intact. There was a child fell faint and fall down in the class because of the freezing cold. In those drizzling days, it was piercing cold; and some children were all in a tremble and could not talk".

Together with the journey “BRING THE WARMTH TO THE HIGHLAND CHILDREN”, 2000 of warm jackets and 2000 of blanket had come to the children in Nam Ka commune - Lak district. UGETHER also donated 100 products to children. Hopefully with clothes, blankets can keep them warm when the winter is approaching.

Thanks for VOH sharing with UGETHER on this experience.
